Lilli's Shanghai

I used to work in the Shanghai Centre so I was at serious risk of burning holes in my pockets every lunchtime with one of the Lilli's showrooms so easily accessible.

Gorgeous, interesting designs that were pricey for Shanghai but reasonable by Aussie standards. Their showrooms are well worth a look and I suspect you will walk away with a few items in your hands.

I recommend the Xiang Yang Lu showroom over the Shanghai Centre. The Shanghai Centre shop is small although it is quite well stocked but the Xiang Yang Lu store is beautifully designed and shows off the products rather nicely (I've never been to the other locations).

Even better, you can expect excellent service from friendly staff (shock horror, yes... in Shanghai!).

Photos: Above - my favourite evening bag made with Japanese obi fabric and silk lining inside. It feels fantastic and the metal handles adds the perfect touch.

Right: small hand-embroidered evening bag.

Will have to raid the shop when I visit again in late 2007! *rubbing hands together gleefully*

Jooi Design

Niftily shaped bag I picked up from Jooi design.

Interesting designs including kimono inspired dresses, bags, notebooks, linen. Jooi is on the pricey end of the Shanghai market - my 'is this really worth this much?' radar goes off 95% of the time when I pick up something to have a look at it.

There was another bag with the same shape but a much nicer design with a lady in a qipao but I thought it was a bit of a rip off so I bought the one on sale (pictured above).

cybertart!

Hello everybody, my name is Scootergrrl and I'm a bag-aholic.

I have a bag addiction.

Shoes have never caught my attention and I often buy clothes with the words, "I'll take one in every colour." Bags, however, are a different story altogether.

Big, small, tiny, leather, fabric, plastic. You name it, I've probably got it.

I've never been able to walk away from a groovy bag so, I'm in serious trouble with Cybertart, a recent discovery in Melbourne. I suspect I'm going to have Cybertart bags coming out of my ears in the near future. I already have 4 bags and 2 wallets and that's from 2 visits to their stall.

I especially love the 'dangle' which wraps around a wrist.

I am not in any way affiliated to these guys. I just love their work and the best part of all is that they're good people. Anne Marie, the lovely lady in this pic is fantastic. Super friendly and good fun.

Check out Cybertart online or at the Esplanade Market in St Kilda on Sundays (pictured below) or at the Rose St Artists' Market in Fitzroy on Saturdays.

Bagmaniac Virgin Post

As confessed in the Cybertart Post, I'm a bagaholic.

So, I thought I'd put together a collection of my fave haunts (in Melbourne, Shanghai and the bagosphere) for all things in the bagiverse.

Hope at least one of you finds this useful.

Cheers.
